The Many Uses of Adobe Photoshop

One of my absolute favorite pieces of software is Adobe Photoshop.  It is incredibly useful and powerful, but for the average person, its extensive features and hefty price tag can be a bit much. For non-professionals, there are much cheaper and even free alternatives that are also great tools for working with images. Regardless of this fact, I still own a copy, and I am not even a graphic designer.

Today, a friend asked me how I could spend so much money on a on a piece of software.  My answer was simple. There are many things you can do with Adobe Photoshop that make it an excellent value proposition for me even though it’s expensive.  I am not going to switch to a cheaper solution because I already know how to use it, and I am far to ADD to learn another editing program.  Also, because Photoshop is the industry standard, there are countless online tutorials.

The thing is though, there is one thing that Photoshop lets me do that I really couldn’t live without.  In fact, I can’t even begin to imagine how depressed I would be without this ability.
